The most atrocious thing I've heard lately must be the new Flotsam and Jetsam. The song "Cold" reminds me of Nickelback. Haven't heard the new Forbidden yet; is it good?

The new Forbidden for me, it's not what I expected. It's definately better than Green but.. something's missing. Distortion was better.

Yeah, it's modern sounding (well, the production that is, music is in the vein of Bay Area thrash, and I'm a fan of that particular style). But if the songs are good I can live with it. I also agree that it isn't Rivera's most brilliant performance from a 'technical US power metal'-point of view, but his aggressive approach fits the music on "Glory Of Chaos". That's just my opinion mate...

And for making myself totally 'untrue' : I like the new Forbidden also
