Some Obscure NWOBHM demos
There are ways of finding out about Sanctus:
San Remo is obviously a pseudonym,
but Splintered had a bassist name Colin Bradley:
http://www.myspace.com/splintereduk
there is someone with the same name also in Dual (may or may not be the same):
http://www.dual.co.uk/main.html
Deluge (UK) had a drummer named Paul Orchard:
http://metal-archives.com/band.php?id=40301
might be hard to find a contact...
There's a Tony Newton, also bass/vocals, in the band Deeds:
http://www.myspace.com/deedsdirtydeeds
fan page, but there's also a personal page:
http://www.myspace.com/rockridgestudio
could be the same...
I don't have a myspace and am not interested in pursuing this further, someone else on here might. Hopefully at least one of these people will be someone who played on the demos.
Personally I have a feeling the demos are 1985-88 or something like that based on the sound, they have things that bands like New Model Army, the Mission, the Skeletal Family and other bands like that were playing in that period of time. I could be wrong I guess, Sanctus sounded way ahead of their time anyways, assuming it was for real.

Someone uploaded Sanctus videos on youtube if anyone is interested.

By the way, did anyone just see the Marquis De Sade single on ebay? It was going for $900! Both of these bands make extraordinary use of their synth....gives me a very eerie and bleak feeling. Great stuff.

Do you have a link to that auction, please? Was the seller of this MdS single "leonard_skinner"? If that's the case, the single went for 900$ WITHOUT original PS or insert.Deathmaster wrote:Someone uploaded Sanctus videos on youtube if anyone is interested.

I *think* that seller has been accused of lots of shill bidding to run prices up. The MdS single by itself shows up semi-regularly and sells around $150.

Re: Some Obscure NWOBHM demos
Vengeance (pre-Shocksplit) is also very obscure...
Anyone knows how many demos they recorded ?
(there's only mention to one in M.A. and i wouldn't consider 1987 as a NWOBHM release but i think they have more demos recorded previously to that year...)
Or there were 2 Vengeance bands active at same time (early to mid 80's) recording demos ?
