But I have a copy of Wargasm-Why Play Around on CD & I'm not sure if it's a bootleg or not..??
Matrix is:
(CD 2003) : MOSHROOM CD 2003 2898784 01+
IFPI LN46

on Rock Hotel Records/Profile Records/Moshroom

Cat no. on the spine says CD 2003

Thanx!

Looks like if you got the German pressing, which came out a good while after the original Rock Hotel pressing. Of course this doesn't say anything about if it's a bootleg or not but at least it does exist as a legit version.

HMM.

I have the legit version of the german press (cat.num. CD 2003), with extended matrix ("made in ...") and without IFPI code.

Looks like Korgull has a late reissue, or a recent bootleg. Dunno honestly :?

I'll vouch that as I'm sure that I have the same pressing from 1988. "MADE IN W.GERMANY BY PDO" and without an IFPI Code. I'm quite sure that Korgull's copy is just a re-press but it's hard to tell without a photo.

I just noticed that this copy has another IFPI code in the clear ring around the center hole, it says IFPI JCE2

Avenger, is that normal for a CD to have two IFPI codes???

Here's some pics:

(I can't say if this CD is a bootleg because I never owned it in either form)

It's fully normal for a CD to have 2 IFPI codes, the one in the inner ring is the pressing plant of the master disc, the one in the plastic mold is the pressing plant of the CD.

It's common for early CDs with IFPI codes to only have one code which is for the pressing plant, I guess it wasn't important in the beginning to mention the pressing plant of the master disc.

What's the matrix number on the CD:

Omen - Battle Cry - 1987 - Restless/Metal Blade

Are there any known bootleg replicas of this item?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Is this a barcode on the Wargasm matrix or a solid thick line? if it is a barcode it looks suspicious although the photo is blurred. check if it looks like a valid barcode (some stripes are wider than others). I've seen a lot of counterfeits with badly forged barcodes (only very thin stripes and lots of them).

I found good scan of another copy of this CD:
Image
I know only about japanese version of this album released by Pony Canyon in 1991 but nothing about these 1987 Enigma/Alfa version. Don't get me wrong i dealt with this seller in the past and i was fully satisfied, he alway do a great and very informative descriptions, but this time i am confused about this one.
Matrix number of CD look empty, no digits/words.
I would be appreciate for any help. Thanks!

Weird that there is no matrix inscription but it definitely looks like a mid-80s Japanese pressing. Alfa did release a few other Enigma-licensed CDs in 87 so I'd say it's real.

I agree with perishinflames for the most part, although it's hard to say if this is actually from the 80's or not. Have you asked if there is any matrix text or are you only making this assumption based off the picture? It's possible that the scan just didn't pick it up. If I recall correctly there is also a Cities - "Annihilation Absolute" CD that is similar to this, if not from the same time/CD series. Upon originally seeing it listed for the first time I also thought that the only early Japanese pressing was from Pony Canyon.

Regardless, very little information is available on these pressings.

Thank you for help guys! In description seller decrypting what mean those letters in left bottom corner of back. Here it is:
The following is a list of the earlier release years and their letter representation:

1984 - N
1985 - I
1986 - H
1987 - O
1988 - R
1989 - E
etc. Very intersting, i never knowed about it. Also i looking on musik.sammler for other releases from 1987 in Alfa Records Japan and they have same cat.# type 32XB-
So i think the seller actually knows about what wrote. Those digits O.10.25 means that CD was produced the 25 of October 1987
