Hey all, thanks for getting back to the somewhat odd request. I didn't think my post went through so I didn't even see it til now. I'll check out the rec's.

What I meant by Germanic (in this case) was like ultra-melody, big choruses Germanic. Maybe even somewhat overproduced choruses (like Heavy Load's on that album). There's something about the Germanic accent when used that way which is really cool and unique. That Cannon album with "Fireblade" on it comes to mind.

Courage was definitely right on track! Death Warrant was pretty bad-ass, too. I couldn't find any Simson.

And Airwolf is always a good time. Deaaath Metal Raaain!

Thanks all for the replies.

And yeah, this Courage is kicking my ass as we speak. NP: "At Vietnam".

Simson is more early metal sounding, nice guitar work and to some extend a hard-rockish feeling is drifting around...Courage is definitel the band you were looking fo=r mate!Heavy Load sounding or not,it was worth listening to it.

Truly one of The Great Hidden Secrets of Teutonic Steel! Luw this album to dethe..

@Kojerk: So you're basically looking for catchy, "Scandinavian" vocal harmonies upon a slightly Heavier foundation than happy-happy-dr.stein's-future-world-stuff? The later ATTACK cd's should make you very, um... happy :D
...and the last BRAINFEVER-release, the "You" MLP - best shit they ever recorded - don't miss!

CHECK BLAZE FROM OSAKA-JAPAN.
A LOT OF SIMILARITIES TO THE MIGHTY HEAVY LOAD (Especially eddy's songs and singing).
Also check the 7" single of FRANKENSTEIN from Holland, the song don't cry when i die or something like this....
epic metal rules !

I hadn't been exposed to much ATTACK before, but yeah, pretty bad-ass. Brainfever I came upon after hearing the RANDY comparison in one of the reviews here, also awesome. But yeah, basically way to boil down what I was looking for. Cranking the BRAINFEVER "Hoist up the Sails" right now. Awesome!
