A more Germanic Heavy Load?
A more Germanic Heavy Load?
Hey all,
I know this is kind of an oddball request, but does someone have any ideas of a band or album that sounds like a German Heavy Load from that album? I dunno why, I have a feeling I'm overlooking something really obvious. Like the chorus of "Free" or "Saturday Night" or "Run With the Devil", only Teutonically-accented.

A subject right up my alley. Judging from your introduction you already know about NINJA's "Invincible" LP, right? That was the 1st album that came to mind... This is tricky, but check out these 3 for starters:
ATTACK - Return Of The Evil LP
HEADSTONE - Excalibur LP
ALLIED FORCES - The Day After LP (Holland)

No i don't think the above mentioned bands, they don't have much common with HEAVY LOAD different years, different style.
Maybe the German band of the same era as HEAVY LOAD is SIMSON with ''Delilah'' in 1983 which sound NWOBHM at some times.I think it's the closest thing you search.
Anyway otherwise there is also a German band HEAVY LOAD from Freiburg
with a LP ''No More Through The Backdoor'' from 1982!

Dissin' Greece's most famous invention I see...ION BRITTON wrote:That was quite nasty.

Back OnT, @Kojerk: When reading 'Germanic' I'm thinking of heavy & rowdy metal like Accept and early Running Wild, but some might think of more melodic speed stuff like Helloween, Scanner etc... Which sound are you referring to?

I have SIMSON, band came from bavaria, not too far from my place. They had some nice NWOBHM vibes, never thought of HEAVY LOAD when i hear them to be honest, but maybe like the early stage of that band.Vaggelis wrote:No i don't think the above mentioned bands, they don't have much common with HEAVY LOAD different years, different style.

Maybe AIRWOLF would fit? Hard to tell really, Kojerk we need more specifications!
