Well, here we go, the feller with the "Siren - 1991 Demo" uploaded it for me.
I haven't had a chance to hear it yet myself, it's d/ling here as i type.
Dunno if it's genuine, if the sound's crappy, but here it is anyway.
Thanks for this! A piece of Siren history I wasn't even aware of. "Take It Away" is awesome, though I actually found "Evil Cloud" to be annoying. The other 2 tracks were very good but seemed to be missing some of the magic of their earlier material.
Glad there's some interest in this, i've only had the chance to hear it once myself, so my internal jury's still out.
"Take It Away", sounded pretty good straight away, but i'll need to give the demo a lot more listens before i know how i feel about it definitively.
Anyone got any opinions or info about this and it's provinence?

for the scant background we have so far.
Good demo, mostly in the vein of the 2nd album, the 2 first tracks are great, "Take it now" killed me !! "Evil Cloud" and "Straight Jacket" are more average.
Very happy to hear this one. I can only 2nd some other comments - it's definitely better than the 2nd LP, "Take It Now" is a ripper fo sho', but I really liked this demo a lot as a whole. Mighty cheerios, 'kit!
Nice to see that the responses on this have been mostly positive.
I can only concur with most of what you guys said already, it sounds pretty good to me too, and "Take It Now" kicks arse most of all.
Still wish i knew more about the background to the recording, but it seems like no-one knows 'owt about it.
While i'm on the subject, can i recommend a listen to "Financial Suicide" to anyone who hasn't heard it in a while.
It isn't as good as "No Place Like Home", that's a given, but it's not as bad as everyone seems to recall.
Just different.
It's not that FS is a complete suckfest or anything, it's just your typical US Powerthrash without the same originality and amazing songwriting of the more classic HM debut. On this demo they at least reconquered some of that initial original streak...

I think if you'd heard "Financial Suicide" before hearing "No Place Like Home" then you'd be more inclined to enjoy both.
I concur that "FS" isn't a patch on the debut, but to me it's still a decent record.
