Out of curiosity, are people content with an online stream (or download) being their first "listen" of a new album? I just can't do it, at least not for bands that I hold dear. Fair enough, some of you may be involved in media, or publications, or have been given promotional copies to rev...

Ah, I didn't mean that they would be trying to make any conscious move neither to or from Mercyful Fate in any way. It was merely a reflection of that songs style and quality. I'm sure Lindell or Lagergren can come in here and correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure I've heard at least one drunken comp...

The album was unleashed upon Metal Blades web-based promotion service yesterday so the reviews (and leaks) should start popping up all over the place any day now... I for one really fucking like the album. If they do want to get away from the Mercyful Fate-comparisons they didn't do themselves any f...

New Primordial track

I'm Surprised that Dan hasn't already raved about this himself: http://www.metalblade.com/primordialstream/ What do you think? I love it, and there's even better stuff on the album. As far as I can tell shameless self promotion is rarely looked down upon here, so I'll just remind all Swedes with goo...

Ion Britton: Nice one :) Still, stealing - blatantly - a line of lyrics is still not something that makes me think Bathory's viking era as a whole is influenced by Manowar. In my ears they're still two compleeetely different musical entities.

Well, by everybody I mean pretty much anyone who listened to Metal back then, no matter where you lived, at least knew those bands. And Sweden isn't Tibet or Haiti where that music probably took a lot longer to arrive so I seriously doubt he didn't know those bands, but by saying I doubt it I'm not...

So everybody around him was listening to those bands but he wasn't? I find it hard to believe, but I guess we'll never know. Who would "everybody" be? I'm under the impression that he wasn't a huge socialite and that he mostly hung out with the same bunch of people all the time. His dad m...

I've apologised over and over for the delay. Sometimes the reason's a small one, such as the fact that it's my daughter's first day at her new school. As a father of two I'd say that one is the BIG one - not the Exodus-recording ;) Congrats on the album deal - now bring on the cannons of Metal Blad...

Best fanzine (a word that doesn't really do this... thing... justice) ever must be Dauthus. Made by Timo Ketola, aka Davthvs, Ketoladog etc, who has done artwork for all kinds of bands in the death/black metal underground. Genious, genious design and great interviews/reviews. Best current mag: Class...

Hey, you can't say A without saying B... you of all people should know that the question "please elaborate" will come after revealing something like that. What's the problem between Patrick and Terrorizer?

Louise: Explore, please! But be ware that Sweden Rock is getting any and all exclusive interviews Patrick will do, not Terrorizer ;) Cyclone is releasing "The Inside Room", yes. Hage wrote me to me on August 17th: "We don´t have any fixed releasedate yet for the 40 WATT SUN album, and...

Thanks for the link! I hadn't seen that before. Hard to judge the actual quality with this crappy recording, but the style seems to be what I'm craving. I haven't heard the demos, but the first album didn't really do the trick for me. I love all the stuff on "Watching..."... "sappy&qu...

40 Watt Sun

Hope I'm not posting about something you're already discussing. I did a quick search but couldn't find anything going on... so... 40 Watt Sun: what's the deal? A forum so in the know as this must have SOME inside info on the album! I've even e-mailed with Cyclone Empire regarding that because they'v...

It almost feels demeaning to namedrop them in this context but of course PRIMORDIAL should be mentioned. No other band I know have succeeded so well in taking the "Hammerheart"-influence and turned it into something unique. Frankly I can't imagine there being a better band of this sort ou...
