Taist of Iron: Resurrection

Diese Platte bekommt von mir schon mal vorneweg 2 Bonuspunkte. Einen dafür, dass sie sehr obskur ist und eine einen dafür, dass eine Frau singt. Sie singt sehr kraft- und temperamentvoll und gerade das macht die Platte interessant. Musikalisch ist die Platte trotz des recht hohen Alters durch und durch Metal. Man hört zu keiner Zeit etwas rockiges oder kommerzielles durch. Genau das ist es: "Resurrection" ist absolut kommerzfrei! Hier wird vieles vermengt, in dem Bestreben eine einzigartig atmosphärische und okkult/mystische Platte zu erschaffen. Leider gelingt das nicht immer so, dass man von einem Klassiker reden kann."We Give Life", "The Gates" oder "Love & Pain" sind doch recht normale Metal Songs, denen das o.g. leider nicht anhaftet. Im Gegensatz dazu stehen Songs wie "Victim Child", "Evil", "Cross Of Fire" und "Bloody Axe", die sehr gut sind und den Kauf allemal rechtfertigen. Meine absoluten Lieblingssongs sind aber "Ouija", das mich von der Atmosphäre sogar manchmal an KING DIAMOND erinnert und "Feeling You". Dieses ist ein wahrlich großartiges Liedchen, das zu den Top-weiß der Geier wie viel gezählt werden kann. Ihr seht also, dass trotz des Schattens das Licht überwiegt. Die von vielen Breaks und Tempowechsel durchzogenen Songs machen einfach Spaß zu hören, vor allem wenn man von straightem Metal zwischenzeitlich die Schnauze voll hat und mal was obskures hören will. "Resurrection" ist recht schwer aufzutreiben (ich habe außer meinem Exemplar schon ewig keine mehr gesehen!).

Sometimes I feel a little sorry for "normal" people carrying along life with their mundane tasks, trying to be all caught up with the latest trends and fashions, not knowing the joy one gets from pure metal FURY, the cold sweats the trouble swallowing, the POWER that comes from albums such as this. I LOVE THIS TOTAL UNDERGROUND US METAL. The style is a definite cross of JUDAS PRIEST "Screaming for vengance" mixed in with some CHASTAIN "Ruler of the wasteland" mixed in with a little TYRANT "Legions of the dead" and of course a little SABBATH and even a little VAN HALEN as evidenced on the guitar solo. The (female) vocalist has iron lungs and spits metal hell like a mix of Leather Leone, Bitch and Doro and the vocalist from BATTLEFIELD, EVERY SONG on here is a winner memorable and flowing over with pre metal might, "Bloody axe" "Victim child" "Cross of fire" all rule.As the dark entity looms over the transfixed victim on the album cover so shall you be victim to TAIST OF IRON!!!
