Review

DOOM! Sure, you've got your Pentagram and your Witchfinder General, but even ol' Zeeb would shudder at the weighty power contained in these grooves! Rough around the edges to be sure, MISTREATER delivers catchy, memorable tunes so heavy you'll hum 'em all the way to the trauma unit. Curt Luedy's voice is a bit thin, but hell, so's Ozzy's; no niceties like second-guitar overdubs during solos, the rattling of those loose bass strings sounding plenty fat; what we're talking here is a meat-and-potatoes live performance caught here on vinyl, minus the screaming and fuck-ups. So imagine Volcanic Rock-era Buffalo, in your living room, with an extra eight years' worth of metal savvy, and you're starting to get close. But GOD, the songs are great!
