Review

Of all the 3 Metal related Anthrax Records bands (not all of their records are Metal/HC) is "Soulstorm" the one that seldomly turns up. But that's not a matter of their "quality" at all. Even though everything on the cover looks like Metal you'll be taken back to reality by taking a look on the back cover. Like on LOST GENERATION's album there are Thrash parts (much more) featured here but I think DIRGE are much more of a HC band with (Thrash) Metal roots. Especially the vocalist sounds extremely annoying right from the start. I usually like most 80's HC vocal styles but this guy, I don't know what he's was doing here. He's the reason that "Soulstorm" became unbearable for me and I'm sure this album will find much more friends amoung the HC crowd. So in short, straight Crossover/Thrash with a few psychedelic parts and annoying vocals = listen first!
