Ja!!! 14 Jahre nach der Ausnahmescheibe "Iron Tiger" melden sich BUTCHER endlich mit einem nicht minder eindrucksvollen neuen Album zurück. Als hätten die letzten 20 Jahre nie stattgefunden powern sich die Jungs nebst neuer Sängerin (Lil Tang - Hammerröhre!) durch 12 megastarke, tief in den 80ern verwurzelte Songs. Mit vertreten sind 2 Songs der Vorgängerband COVEN von 1986 ("King of the Hill" und "Battleaxe"), die das schon damals vorhandene Potential aufzeigen. Nie zu schnell, mit dunklen Vocals und feinem Gespür für einprägsames Riffing machen Songs wie "The Dark", "Halloween" oder auch das getragene "Silence" auch beim X-ten Durchlauf noch Spaß. Das Album stellt für mich die meisten Releases 2010 (und 2009... 2008... - also viele) locker in den Schatten. Willkommen zurück BUTCHER!

Yes!!! Some 14 years after the outstanding "Iron Tiger", BUTCHER stike back with the equally impressive new album "Welcome to the night". Deeply rooted in the 80ies, founded on pumping rhythms and refined by new vocalist Lil Tang (man, what a voice!), you'll get 12 powerful Metal jewels that will outlive most of 2010's (and 2009's... and 2008's... quite many) releases by far! Never too fast, with quite concise vocals and awesome riffing, "Welcome to the night" rocks from the beginning to the end. Included you'll find two song of the forerunner band COVEN ("King of the Hill" and "Battleaxe"), showing the big potential the band had already back in 1986. My favourites are "The Dark", "Halloween" or the carried "Silence" - all memorable and unique! Surely a must-have for all you Metal fans out there. Welcome back BUTCHER!

After 14 years the second album from BUTCHER came to light. Again we may listen to typical Power Metal US-style containing good songwriting ability, a powerful sound and a fine production. Great album! (Stefan Riermaier)

Nach mittlerweile 14 Jahren steht das zweite Album von BUTCHER am Start. Geändert hat sich zum Glück nicht allzuviel. Der US Power Metal den die Band schon 1996 gespielt hat, ist hier immer noch vorhanden und das ist gut so.
Eine Art Konzeptalbum ist es geworden und zwischen einigen Songs sind Radioansagen, Kommentare und ähnliches, was aber die Songs gut einbettet. Songs wie "King of the hill", "Silence" oder "The dark" werden sicherlich jeden true 80s (US)-Metal-Fan vor allem aufgrund der großen Abwechslung (teilweise auch weiblicher Gesang) begeistern.
