Debut album from SHY and definitely a classic of melodic N.W.O.B.H.M. This is the only album that the band released with Ebony and it’s one of the rarest LPs of the label. Great melodies, heavy guitars and an amazing vocalist make Once bitten…” one of my favourite releases of melodic metal from Great Britain. I put this album in the same league with Time tells no lies”, Contract with hell” or Chase the dragon”. The tracks are full of energy, the band showed that had great skills and the whole album really takes you high! The dark, doomy production will surely displease many traditional hard rock fans, but hey, you can’t have it all! The commercial success led to a bigger contract and the next albums were very impressive (more AOR-ish though) as well.
