Review

Not to be confused with the UK NWOBHM band this is the Saracen from Australia - a classic style heavy metal band who formed in 1980, disbanded in 83 when guitarist John Meyer split to join Rose Tattoo and reformed once again in 1986. Featuring bassist & drummer 2/3 of the Trilogy - Life On Earth (see review) line up. A hard rocking power trio with great hooks, guitar playing and melodies. Saracen is so close stylistically to the Trilogy album that it was actually released as a second Trilogy album overseas - obviously being renamed due to the SARACEN name conflict. Some great catchy songs - In The Morning, Three Years, Fight With Fire and a cracking instrumental L.M.D. reminiscent of Rush's YYZ. When put in context of the time this band were formed then this stands up very well as a great self released hard rock / metal album Those with a penchant for 'Allied Forces' era Triumph or 'Moving Pictures' era Rush will be will rewarded with a great listening experience if they manage to acquire a copy this ultra rare slab of Aussie wax.

LP was released in Europe as "TRILOGY - Next In Line" on the Axe Killer label (see our review).
