Anvil Bitch: Rise to offend

Es gibt Alben, bei denen ich nicht weiß, warum ich sie in der Sammlung habe. "Rise to offend" ist so ein Teil. Klingt wie schlichte Demos zu "Kill 'em all" gespielt von Hallows Eve so gegen 3 Uhr morgens, hat eine ultraschlechte Produktion, keinen echten Hit, einen schwachen, aber sehr dominant abgemischten Sänger und ein bestenfalls witziges Cover. Und doch finde ich gerade diese Mischung irgendwie nett anzuhören, vermutlich aus rein nostalgischen Gründen. Anvil Bitch versuchten gar nicht, komplexe Songs filigran auszuarbeiten, sondern spielten einfach gradaus drauf los. Nach knapp 36 Minuten ist der Spaß dann auch schon vorbei. Sicher nicht die beste Veröffentlichung von New Renaissance, aber für Nostalgiker und Freunde des simplen Speed / Thrash evtl. eine nette Sache.

Sometimes I don't know why I bought an album for my collection. "Rise to offend" is one of these. Sounds like simple demos for "Kill 'em all" played by Hallows Eve at maybe 3 a.m., has a horrible production, no memorable song, a poor but dominant vocalist and a, say, nice cover. Nevertheless, I like this mixture, probably for nostalgic reasons only. Anvil Bitch didn't try to create complex song structures, they just went straight forward through their 36 minutes and 12 songs. Surely not the best release on New Renaissance, but for friends of simple Speed / thrash probably a nice discovery.
