Last Flight: Dance to the music

Ich bin mir sicher, dass jeder NWOBHM Sammler dieses Teil zu Hause stehen hat. Für die, die "Dance to the music" (noch) nicht besitzen, bleibt anzumerken, dass beide Songs positiv auffallen und der Titeltrack etwas Ohrwurmartiges an sich hat. Last Flight versuchten weder durch übertriebene Härte aufzufallen, noch ritten sie auf der beginnenden Speed Welle. Sie spielten einfach ihren hardrockenden Metal runter, der mich ab und an an AC/DC (stilistisch) denken lässt. Zudem erinnert das Hauptriff von "Dance to the music" etwas an Fireclown's geniales "Invasion". Allerdings konnten sie mit derlei antiquierten Klängen im Zeitalter von "Killers" nicht mehr viel bewerkstelligen. Trotzdem ein solides Teil.

Most of you do surely know this EP, for those who were afraid to try it out yet I have to say that both songs are solid hardrockin' midtempo Metal, that makes me thinking stilistically more than once on AC/DC. The main riff of the hit "Dance to the music" even reminds me to the awesome "Invasion" of the mighty Fireclown. Both trax had a very powerful production but in the "Killers" era and the beginning Speed Metal wave, bands like Last Flight had already lost the battle against the powerbanging Metal brigades of the near future with their pretty antiquated sounding style. But however, it's surely worth a listen! (Futuresynner)
