Holocaust: Heavy Metal Mania

What I can say to you about “Heavy Metal Mania”? Who don’t know this heavy metal anthem? Covered by Gamma Ray in the “Land of the Free” double LP edition (also Kai Hansen during the “Land of the Free” tour play this song in the encore), this song is simply a legendary track!
This version is also different from the album version that appear on “Nightcomers”.
The guitar sound arrive from an air raid siren with the killer riff of Mortimer.
Gary Lettice say: “inside the power cage I can feel the music of my age...” with his particular voice. Is not an hyper technical song, but really mean HEAVY METAL!!!! Great sound, killer rhythm, essential but great guitar solo... no other words!
The others two tracks ( one in the 7” release) are always explosive. I think that this is a must to have item for all the metalheads! Rare but not impossible (the 7” is a little bit more rare than the 12”).
Holocaust after this release made the first album, the seminal “The Nightcomers” and start the voyage in the H.M. music. After many years, now Holocaust are on the road again. The band release in the latest years some new records but for me the great Holocaust production finished with the live album “Live! Hot Curry and Wine”.
