Review

A great and rather rare piece of NWOBHM type of metal. The vocals are about as unique as you will ever see in the genre, comparable to early MANILLA ROAD and CIRITH UNGOL, though not as scratchy or rough. The guitar work is quite melodic but still heavy. Check out the air raid sirens on "In The End Of The World". Even if you don't like the vocals on this record, the guitar work is higher ended and quite catchy. They construct good choruses, I've found myself singing along to "Born In A Hell" and "Heavy Revolution" on a regular basis. "Death Angel" is a bit slower paced, but these songs definitely have the heavy metal feeling. This was AXE WITCH's first release, and you can hear just how raw and clear the production is. The beefier sound and more dynamic instrumentation was not to be heard until the followup album "Lord Of The Flies", which is a bit more polished, but these 4 songs are still very enjoyable. Sadly there isn't much info on the band available.
