Furia Animal: Buscame/Los fuertes venceran

Das "Geheimnis" dieser ominösen EP Reihe, der ebenso die Esfinge Single angehört, ist nun gelöst. Sangre Azul, Esfinge und Furia Animal belegten (in dieser Reihenfolge die ersten Plätze eines lokalen Madrider Bandcontests, woraufhin Sangre Azul eine MLP, und die beiden anderen Bands je eine 7" produzieren durften. Die Stile von Esfinge und Furia Animal sind gar nicht mal so unterschiedlich. Auch Furia Animal liefern 2 mal durchschnittlichen, doch zügigen stampfenden Heavy Metal ab, der wie schon gewohnt eine dominierende melodische Note verarbeitet. Was mir etwas auf die Nüsse geht, ist ihr Sänger Tony Cuevas, der mit seiner gequetscht hohen Stimme meine Nerven doch arg strapaziert. Bei nur 2 Songs mag das noch im Bereich des Erträglichen liegen, aber ein komplettes Album mit ihm würde einer Mutprobe gleichkommen. Aber auch mit Tony Cuevas ist diese EP ganz nett. Kann man durchaus kaufen.

Finally I was able to reveal the "secret" about that series which also the Esfinge EP was a part of. Sangre Azul, Esfinge and Furia Animal were the winners of a local band contest in Madrid in 1985 and the prices were a MLP for the winner Sangre Azul and the other two bands were allowed to produce a 7"EP each. The styles of Esfinge and Furia Animal don't differ that much. Furia Animal recorded 2 tracks of average, faster pounding classic Heavy Metal with the typical melodic influences where only the higher vocals of Tony Cuevas (who sounds more like a little kid) gets on my nerves. But all in all a really nice underground vinyl which is truly not wrong to get it. There's alot more crappier spanish vinyl available. (Futuresynner)
