Review

SNAILBOOSTER was a french band based in Lille (North of France). This self-financed CD released in 1994 contains 11 tracks (comprising demo tracks from 1992). I loved this CD a lot because the sound is spontaneous, clear, each instrument is in its place, the drummer plays simple, the english language is speaking not very much, medium vocals, old-fashioned cover... but it's not important because the songs are great : "69" (Hot instrumental !), "Help me to die" is one of my favourite (double voice on numberous parts, inventive break in the middle), "Father and son" have a good chorus, "Trade of tears" (against all wars !) have some inventive little guitars finds, "Why" is an average mid-ballad (remember me some MAIDEN parts), "Shameful poverty", another great song with various rythms and breaks (excellent chorus). On the 5 last tracks, I can mention "To touch her", "Follow me" with its Rock'n'roll groove, "Twilight" (Good instrumental song) and the powering "Culprits". This CD is one of my favourite piece and it's a pleasure to hear it again and again..., simply Frenchy Underground Hard Rock ! Recommanded for all of you if you love the unforgettable songs !
Unfortunately, the band break up and some members start a new project sadly called SYRENS CALL "Fantasea" (Brennus 2000) in a bad Progressive Metal way,. Don't forget your origins guys !
