Review

Many people know about the s/t mini-LP but aren’t aware of the debut 7” of one of the most underrated bands of the French scene, HIGHLAND QUEEN. And it’s really a pity because this 7” doesn’t lack of quality at all and it can be easily compared with many great releases that 80’s French metal gave us! A-side is an amazing classic metal tune which has a galloping leading riff, a nice solo a la SCORPIONS/GARY MOORE and distinctive vocal lines which remind me of Ronnie Atkins of PRETTY MAIDS. In my opinion this track is the heaviest the band ever recorded and it’s also my favorite one. B-side is a mid-tempo tune with noticeable vocals once again, not as good as Call of the hell” but not bad either. Very hard to find and thus the hunt goes on forever…
