"Attack against gnomes", das erste volle Album der Finnen von 1989 sieht man ja ab und zu mal bei Second Hand-Händlern rumstehen und es gefällt durch sein witziges Coverartwork. Die Nachfolgealben "Selling the salvation (1990) und "Parasites in paradise" (1992) sind da schon etwas weniger häufig zu finden, genauso wie die Maxi "Priest" und die Single "Veijoo" (beide von 1989). PRESTIGE spielen manchmal speedigen Thrash ("Priest") mit melodischen Einsprengseln ("Force of my hate"), mal etwas komplexer aufgebaute Songs ("Selling the salvation"), dann wieder rifflastige Stampfer ("Dead by drugs"). Oftmals leiden die Songs unter dem wenig variablen Gesang. Wer damit keine Probleme hat (und wer deshalb auch mit den ersten Werken von etwa KREATOR oder FLOTSAM AND JETSAM klarkommt), sollte auch hier drüberstehen und recht abwechslungsreichen Thrash-Metal erwarten. Auf 2 CDs, die randvoll gepackt wurden mit 36 Songs kann man einige Füller auch leicht verschmerzen, so bleibt ein Zeitdokument einer der erfolgreichsten Thrash-Bands Finnlands.

The anthology of one of Finlands most known Thrash Metal-Bands containing their 3 regular albums "Attack against gnomes" (1989), "Selling the salvation" (1990), "Parasites in paradise" (1992) and the Maxi/Eps "Priest" and "Veijoo" (both from 1989). The quality of the music is different. Some very interesting Thrash-Songs like "Force of my hate" stand beside more experimental tracks like "Its over" and songs with good structure but suffering from the mostly quite average vocals. Because all material from the band is put on 2 CDs you will find 36 (!) songs on this 2-CD-set. This means there is worth for money and some fillers can be more easy ignored.
