Minotaur: Burner / Witch-Hunt

Lange buddeln muss man, um dieses Stück mal irgendwo auszugraben. Die Suche lohnt sich aber allemal, da sich darauf allerbester kanadischer Metal versteckt. "Burner" erinnert an "Prowler" von Maiden, auch der Gesang erinnert stark an Paul Di Anno. Minotaur haben aber noch mehr Power als die frühen Iron Maiden. "Witch-Hunt" ist dann typischer nordamerikanischer Power Metal und eigenständiger als die A-Seite. Zweifellos eine der besten Singles Nordamerikas. OPM haben 2004 eine ganze LP rausgebracht mit den beiden Songs und viel Bonusmaterial. Die 2 Singletracks sind aber auf jeden Fall die besten Stücke von Minotaur. Bei der Band wurden ebenfalls letztes Jahr noch 8 Singles gefunden, welche schnell wieder in der Sammlerlandschaft verschwunden sind. Die Single zu finden dürfte deshalb unheimlich schwierig sein, aber man kann sich ja in der Zwischenzeit mit der LP trösten.

You have to dig deep to find this juwel of american Power Metal. But once you hold this piece in your hand you know it was worth all the efforts as it contains just the best canadian Metal. "Burner" is pretty similar to "Prowler" from Maiden, even the vocals sound like Di Anno. "Witch-Hunt" then a power grenade that stands more on it's own feet. Without a doubt one of the best Northamerican singles. OPM released a full LP in 2004 with both Single Tracks and lots of bonus material. The Single tracks are clearly the best two songs they recorded. OPM also got 8 Singles from the band which all disappeared into private collections. It might prove very difficult to find this Single, but just enjoy the LP in the meantime.
