Dirty Rats: Play it loud

Soweit ich weiß ist die "Play it loud" 12" das einzige Vinyl Release der Dirty Rats, einer Street Metal Band aus Melbourne. Street Metal klingt ja immer so unheilvoll, also was versteht man darunter? Ganz einfach ein Melange aus Metal/Hard Rock mit einer gehörigen Portion dreckigem Rock'n'Roll, ähnlich der frühen Motörhead. Klingt auch relativ hörbar und knackig, zumal sich soundmäßig das sicherlich kleine Budget überhaupt nicht bemerkbar macht. Taufrisch und druckvoll wird hier gerockt bis der Arzt kommt. Wer mit Stoff wie Tough Luxery oder Snake klar kommt, der kann ruhig mal nach dieser EP Ausschau halten. Die B-Seite fiel noch einen Tick rotziger aus. Da diese Art Vinyls besonders aus Aussi-Land nicht tagtäglich in die Öffentlichkeit treten, ist "Play it loud" ein weiteres Stück für's Kuriositäten-Kabinett. Nur für Liebhaber!

As far as I know "Play it loud" is the one and only vinyl output (on their own label) of this Melbourne based Street Metal band which offers a fresh and powerful sounding Metal/Hard Rock mix with an strong Rock'n'Roll touch, comparable to early Motörhead. Althought it's a private pressing the surely low recording budget isn't hearable at any minute. If you like aussie bands like Snake or Tough Luxery then you may try the Dirty Rats as well although they were slightly harder rockin'... collectors item only!
