Aggressa: Nuclear Death

Über den genauen Titel der Scheibe kann man nur spekulieren, auf dem Cover steht riesengroß "Mourning has broken", einige behaupten felsenfest die MLP heißt "Nuclear Death". Da ich die Scheibe nur im weißen Neutralcover besitze, kann ich dazu leider nichts sagen, weil auf dem Labelsticker lediglich "Aggressa" und die Songtitel bzw der Name des Labels abgedruckt wurden. Die Rabauken kamen aus Sidney und spielten einen Speed/Thrash Metal Mix der reichlich "sanfter" wirkt als wie es das Cover eigentlich heimlich verspricht. Größtenteils im Midtempo Bereich angesiedelte räudige Thrash Nummern die von diversen Speed Metal Fetzern aufgelockert werden, sogar akustische Parts und speziell auf Seite B gehts es dann Chainsaw Massacre-mäßig wie auf dem Cover zu und es wird fast nur noch unkontrolliert rumgeholzt. Sehr amüsant die Scheibe, zumal die Vocals extremely rotzig rüberkommen, im Stile allseits bekannter Crossover Größen wie The Accüsed oder White Pigs. Der Sound passt auch hervorragend und verschmilzt perfekt mit den kranken Vocals so dass ich dieses Musterteil in die Top 5 Thrash Vinyls aus Down Unda erheben muss. Egal ob mit oder ohne Cover, finden lässt sich "Mourning has broken" (oder wie das Ding auch immer betitelt sein mag) nur sehr schwierig und lässt die langweilige Zen Venom MLP (die nur von ihrem Cover lebt) vor Neid erblassen.

Hard to say what's the real title of this MLP since on the cover is written "Mourning has broken" while some people strongly defend the title "Nuclear Death" and since my copy came just in a neutral white sleeve and on the label sticker you can only find "Aggressa", the songtitles and the Pet Maggots logo there might be a possibility that it's even called "Aggressa" only. The get sure someone has to buy a copy with PS which is almost impossible and you surely know yourself, it costs a small fortune.
Anyway, looking at the most important part, the music I need to say after you saw the cover artwork you'd partly expect a different band. It has got these wild thrashing parts for sure (mainly on side B) but it sounds much more "under control" than you may think. It mainly contains midtempo Thrash completed with a few pure Speed Metal tracks, even accoustic parts and the rest of the songs do show their uncontrollable side, the pure devastation of these typical Crossover bands. The nasty vocals remind alot to bands like The Accüsed or White Pigs which is a big plus point since they are totally melting together with the underground sound which makes "Mourning has broken" to a top 5 aussie Thrash vinyl besides the ones of Mortal Sin, Hobbs Angel of Death, Rampage and Renegade. Every Thrasher must have this one!
