force" und "A cry for help".
A record that's more or less unknown to Power Metallers is the debut of the Outpatients, a former Massachusetts HC troop who converted to Metal in the mid 80's and the best proof for this is their debut "Free association" on Incas Records who are also responsable for Dresdens "Too many skeletons". Stilistically you'll find midtempo tracks like "Left road", "Live again", "Running in the mud" and "The necessary piece" that are acting between pounding US Metal and slightly softer driving Power Metal ("Live again") and on the other side steelhammers like the speed dominated powerthrashers "Pure force" and "A cry for help" (the highlight on this album) that both are somewhere in the vein of Powerlord acting plus 2 relics of their HC days like the short and fast HC/thrashing "Light blue" and "Baloon head" as well as the pure Thrash Metal hymn "Second thought" that will blow your brains out. It's even hard to imagine Vis Helland with his slightly higher vocals has been a HC shouter. Ignore the info you'll find in the www, always calling them a HC band, "Free association" is a Power/Speed Metal record that you should listen to at least once. Simply because you won't get "Pure force" and "A cry for help" out of your head anymore... immortal Metal strikes!
