What were dealing with is just another classic of the glorious N.W.o.B.H.M. era. MILLENIUM made their first appearance one year earlier (1983) in the well known compilation of GUARDIAN records Pure Overkill with bands like SPARTAN WARRIOR, TOKYO ROSE etc. Next year came the s/t LP, which is one of the heaviest and most metallic of the genre. The splendid, clear and very powerful vocals of M.Duffy take even the more average songs to the highest level. Listen to him and tell me bands who had such a vocalist! You wont find more than five- my guarantee on this one. The guitar work of P.McArdle and D. Merrington is excellent while their short and sharp solos show a strong JUDAS PRIEST influence. The best tracks in my opinion are the galloping The devil rides out, the ultra-heavy Armageddon and the slower but powerful The traveler. I have to make a special mention to one of my favourite tracks of all time and definitely a top-15 N.W.o.B.H.M. hymn, one of the tracks that give the definition and are the true essence of that goddamn genre, the unbeatable Demons of the light. Im sorry folks but this track just kills from start to finish. Musically, lyrically, whatever. Demons of the light must be on my funeral playlist, so please take care. MILLENIUM released three more demos after this album, which included some outstanding tracks- I hope that they will see the light of day sometime. MILLENIUM were a huge band. Enough said.
