Having an underground classic like the VIRTUE single as your first release is indeed a great start for a label. Later things became sort of blurry. During their first few years as Other Records, this small Oxford-based label tried out a little bit of everything before becoming one of The Guys and settling for Metalother Records. "Bloody weird name for a record company.." someone pointed out and so came another, more radical change of monicker to G.I. Records. The End?

It's a much more melodic (almost poppy at times) effort than the artwork would lead you to believe, but for the most part not in a bad way. It kinda reminds me of the better melodic moments of Witchfynde, while the heavier bits sound like something Ebony would have put out a few years prior. |
