Formed in 1978 as a rock sublabel to Zafiro, one of Spain's largest majors. Most of the early releases were in the prog/hard/classic rock vein, though some of them quite heavy (check out TARANTULA, RED BOX EL ROJO and early ÑU) but it wasn't until about 1981 that the proper Heavy Metal releases started appearing. I thought the BARÓN ROJO debut LP and 7" from would be a logical starting point for this list and I'm ending it with the label's last vinyl release. Some cassette-only best-of type compilations have been left out, as well as a series of 80's reissues of their 70's releases. It's also worth noting that much of the early 80's stuff were reissued with different catalogue numbers a few years later, but at the moment I'm not gonna go into the different pressing variations that exist - in other words this page only lists the original first pressings. Albums start right below, singles (of which there were quite a few) start here.
While I do recognize that Spain had their fair share of geat Heavy Metal releases, imho very few of them were found on this the largest of Spanish Metal labels. So much for the majors and their eye for talent I guess...
