BAND INFO:
Power Metal band from Thessaloniki, formed in late 1994 by guitarist brethren Dimitris and Thomas Froutis – both members of another of the city’s prominent Power Metal acts, ESCAPE. However, it would take some time for the brothers to find a complete and stable lineup. By December 1994, they had picked up Kostas Anetakis as vocalist, followed in May the next year by Christos Charitopoulos behind the drumkit. Around this time, the band did their first live shows and also begun working on a two-track promo tape, now joined by Kostas Skandalis (bass – FINAL ANSWER, HORIZON’S END, WARDRUM) – who would then leave the bassist position for Kostas Taltabanis in early 1996. Whether or not the aforementioned promo tape is indeed the same release as the “Promo 1996” CDr is currently unknown, but since both are credited as being recorded at Studio Montage (Thessaloniki) and featuring two tracks, it might well be the case.
Stylistically, MINDLOSS could be described as playing a rather technical form of 1990s Power Metal, with the muscular riffing being more akin to North American than European bands. A handful of additional tracks were recorded as well, but except for the odd compilation track nothing more was made available to the public as far as we know, and the band most probably folded before the turn of the millennium.
