FADE AWAY was a Lamia-based Doom Metal act whose sole legacy – in addition to at least one live appearance – amounts to a three-track demo tape entitled “Eternal Life Will Fade Away” (1999) recorded at the local (?) studio Fasma which was also used by their Death Metal townmates SOULLESS. The lineup at the time included: Christos Rentifis (vocals), Thanasis Vlachos (guitars), Kostis Vagias (guitars), Dimitris Papakonstantinou (bass) and Sakis Frutas (drums).

Unfortunately, the only FADE AWAY material available to us by the time of writing is a live uptake from a local festival gig (“Youth Start Festival”) recorded in August 1999. This song “My Last Breath” is also featured on the demo and could be described as closer to traditional, Heavy Metal-based Doom rather than 1990s Death/Doom. It would be nice to hear the rest of the songs, of course, so stay tuned for updates!
