Dithyramvos

“Dithyramvos” (διθύραμβος) was a hymn performed in Ancient Greece in honor of Dionysos – God of fertility, wine, insanity and ritualistic frenzy. Since 1998, it is also the name of an Athenian Black Metal/Ambient act, created by multi-instrumentalist and sole member Dionysis “Iakhos” Negas.

Since the band’s inception in the late 1990s, Dionysis has amassed a vast discography, consisting of several demos along with one full-length album and a multitude of single releases. The demos are virtually impossible to track down, but the album is still in print and the singles can be accessed via DITHYRAMVOS’ Bandcamp page.
