DARK FOREST was formed in the late-1990s in the town of Didymoteicho, located in the easternmost region of Evros (East Macedonia and Thrace). Their music has been habitually classified as melodic Death Metal in the past, but really… they basically play Goth-tinted modern Heavy Metal with gruff vocals set to a rocking beat. Kind of similar to late-1990s ROTTING CHRIST (although lacking the melodic genius of Sakis Tolis).

The DARK FOREST discography is pretty slim: Encyclopedia Metallum mentions a demo from 1998, but we haven’t been able to confirm its existence. A second release, “Promo CD 2003” (2003) was recorded at Nemesis Recording Studio (Kavala). The line-up at the time consisted of: Giorgos “George” Stoiloudis (vocals – CELESTIAL IMMUNITY), Nick (guitars), John (bass) and Dias (drums).
