Cryptic Force

Hailing from the Athenian suburb/municipality of Agia Paraskevi (known for hosting Greece’s only nuclear power plant…), CRYPTIC FORCE was a Thrash Metal unit active in the late-80s/early-90s. The band was formed by Giorgos ”George” Tolias (guitars – ROTTING CHRIST, SIVA SIX) and Nikos “Nick” (drums), who were soon joined by George “Joe” Tamvakologos (vocals, bass – SIVA SIX) and Titis (guitars). With this lineup, CRYPTIC FORCE recorded their sole demo “Their Society is Society’s Suicide” in late 1990 and released it in January 1991 with suitable artwork featuring a blown-up nuclear facility among other things.

Although joined for a period by FLAMES-drummer George “Arvilas”, CRYPTIC FORCE’s activities eventually faded and the band folded in 1992, with members pursuing other creative urges. Vocalist/bassist George Tamvakologos went on to form Dark Electro/Industrial act SIVA SIX in liaison with guitarist George Tolias, releasing a number of well-received albums and remaining active to this day. As some of you may know, Mr. Tolias also played keyboards in ROTTING CHRIST during their early 2000s “Khronos”/”Genesis” era.
