Formed by mainman Ophiel (Jim Apostolopoulos aka Daimon Erect – ESGAROTH/EZGAROTH, SHRINE OF ORPHEUS) in Athens during 1993 and allegedly active to this day, BETHOR performs raw yet ocassionally “8th-note-rocking” and semi-melodic Black Metal which gravitates closer to the icy Nordic sound rather than its Mediterranean counterpart. Having unleashed the two-track demo “Unholy Bride of Mayhem” (1995) – featuring session keyboards by Serpent King of ZEPHYROUS – as well as an excellent contribution to the Demonion Production compilation tape “Ιω Βάκχε, Ευοί - Ραψωδία B'” (1997), BETHOR apparently went into public hibernation for nearly ten years. However, in 2004 a split appeared with the German (?) act MOLOCH, which was followed by 4-way split release in 2011 and finally a full-length entitled “Collapsing Generation of Luciferian Infant Legion” anno 2016. With Ophiel joined by a completely new line-up, this later material presented a harscher, noisier and more occult-oriented side of the band.
