Bestial Wrath

Athens (Attica)
Black Metal
Active:
1992-1993 (as CRACEN), 1993-unknown

After releasing their cult debut demo “The Legend” in 1992, the Athenian Black/Death-trio CRACEN took on the monicker BESTIAL WRATH and put out one split recording with the (at the time) similar-sounding LEGION OF DOOM before calling it quits. Recorded at the style-defining Molon Lave Studios with George Osmak as producer, “Passage Through… The Circle” (1993) is a slightly more polished affair than CRACEN, bearing similarities to other Hellenic acts of the time in terms of sound and mystical atmosphere while still retaining the band’s previous idiosyncracies and Death Metal rootings. Molon Lave must’ve printed a big batch of the “Passage…” 7”,. It’s quite cheap and a hell of a lot easier to find than the CRACEN demo.

For those who can’t get enough of BESTIAL WRATH, there’s also a rerecorded version of the track “Procrustian” to be found on a German compilation CD called “Mortal Mutation – Into the Obscurity of Desolation” (1993).
