Anorimoi

Donning a band name that roughly translates into “immature” or “the immature ones”, ANORIMOI is a comedy/parody band expressing themselves through a melange of Metal genres. The band started out in 1993, allegedly without much musical knowledge, releasing a number of demo tapes before launching their first “real” work “Pappous: The Rock Opera” in 1999 for free via the band’s website. ANORIMOI was eventually signed to Warner Music Greece, with whose blessing they’ve since released numerous albums.

Since the majority (or all) of their songs are sung in their native tongue, the band remains mostly of interest to the Greek-speaking population as most of the potential humor is lost in translation. As for the actual music, ANORIMOI do have a knack for coming up with occasionally funny pastiches of well-known international Metal acts.
