Holy shit. Are you guys aware of these dudes? http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=13927

I recently found the 'Will of the Gods is Great Power' (what a name!) record and I think this is right up there with Candlemass, Solitude Aeturnus, Memory Garden and Forsaken in the Epic Doom (with slight powerish parts) roster of awesomeness. It's a 1996 release, but for all intents and purposes this belongs in Valhalla with the Olde Metal of Awe. Very strongly recommended!

Naah. I had very high expectations when I bought this album, being a huge fan of everything that is grand, epic, doom, or better all of it. For sure, it's very epic, like a mixture of Epicus and Hammerheart, but I dunno. The songs are a bit too flat, the vocals a bit too limited and the production a bit to thin for me too really enjoy the album. I think they could have recorded something better had they continued.

Very good album, a pitty they didn't record anything else (with a better production). Anybody who can tell me if the LP version of 2 (?) years back is worth getting if you already have the 2003 CD version. Additional tracks, better sound, ...?

I love this one, along with God's Tower - "The Eerie" a great example of epic, doomy music that is unique and original....the production is not stellar but I can easily live that given the quality of the music..

I agree on God's Tower, also 'The Turns' by them is up to par.

Very great album. Maybe it tends to be too long at the end imo. I would rate it 9/10. The vocals are godlike on this one.

I was quite sure i was gonna love this album when i first saw it...something went wrong though. It was raw, epic doom with many Bathory influences, but the songs were very far from great. It was quite a long time when i heard Scald, maybe i should give 'em one more chance.

I thought it was excellent
Too bad the singer has since died.
the follow up band Tumulus is nowhere as good.

Fuck a friend told me before a year or so that i should grab the Scald album but i didn't listened to him because i thought it was a very new release or a epic-metal-wannabees ala-Battleroar but in fact after searching the last months about them i like them even more.Fuck if i could had the chance to buy their album on Cd.

Nothing wrong with Battleroar! Man, you Greeks are hard on your own bands - Snakepit must be a popular zine in your country.

The CD isn't that hard to find if youre searching a bit.

And this album is great IMO. The epic atmosphere is such powerful, more prone to worship than anything else, something that may rebuke some listeners I guess. Another proof of the originality of the Russian scene. Despite heavy influences, this band like others never sounds like a simple rip-off...

BTW, I'm curious about GOD'S TOWER.

Yes through Internet its easy. But fortunately or unfortunately i don't buy through internet. So if you live in a small city and get your Cd's Vynils when you go down to Athens it is not the most easy thing...
