Captain Tripps / Tahkesis (AUS) - Unreleased Recording(s)!

OK, this may be the most obscure release ever??!? :?

Only b'cos, it's a totally unreleased album/recording(s) by a band that is loooong split & that there is absolutely no information about what so ever! Even outside of the local Melbourne scene from the late 80's/early 90's they are basically nobodies.

Aussie "power-thrash" in the vein of the Bay Area bands (Forbidden etc?) but with a melodic edge/nwobhm sound.

They were originally called 'Tahkesis' (a 5-headed Dragon from Dragonlance) they then re-named themselves 'Captain Tripps' (after a deadly virus from a Stephen King novel) moving into the 90's ...or was it the other way around??????????? :?

Anyway, it's pretty good stuff & they were great live ...probably just a bit out of date at the time or a case of wrong place at the wrong time, but it does stand up pretty good now. & I've had these recordings for a long time

I have no track listings, album title(s) or which part of the recording is which era of the band... but as I said it's pretty enjoyable!

let me know your thoughts!

My first post to Poisonoise, so hope it works?

Forbidden cum NWOBHM? I'll have to dwnld this. Btw., which was the band you said they're like a cross between Nuclear Assault, VoiVod and sth else as well. Could you perhaps up them too? :)

Ugh.. now I'm gonna sound like a whiney bastard, but I think you set the compression kinda off. These are 56kbps. Listening to them now through crappy computer speakers and it sounds promising, but I don't think I dare to play this through head phones. Some audio support tomorrow. Need to Zzzz...

Ok, maybe I'll try and up it again tonight at a higher kbps. Let me know if anyone else has the same problem...

Did you set the Internal Encoder in Mp3 settings in Audiograbber? You should set LameEnc dll as Internal Encoder else you will stay on 56kbps forever. :!:

I finally managed to hear this one...Quite nice power-thrash, sounds way better than most of Bay-area bands i've heard so far...It's not something i'd kill for but generally i like it. Thanks for the upload Exterminator.

I thought I'd try this, seeing the two new posts. But the link is dead.
