OK, 4 years after this thread was started I finally found an album that sounds like Endless Skies... I made it myself! I made sure not to include any bands which were mentioned in this thread, though certainly there are a few everyone will know (including one surprise, I hope!)

01 JIM PACHECO & THE SMITH BROTHERS - Dreamer
02 TERRITORIES - Ghostown
03 JAM PACT - Leave It Alone
04 DAN'S DEZERTERS - Far Away
05 CRY TOUGH - I Can't Wait
06 BAD AXE - Runner On The Wind
07 GIAN TROGI - Time
08 SOUTHERN CROSS BAND - Outlaw (Josie Wales)
09 CACUMEN - No Reason To Fight
10 AFTER DARK - Mister Moonlight
11 AXE - Battles
Some of these songs have nothing to do with metal (e.g. "Ghostown") and others require a little patience (e.g. "Time") but I think that is in keeping with the spirit of ASHBURY.

By the way, in terms of new bands you folks might hear similarities in Wytch Hazel from the UK: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y74j4Yub ... ideo_title
I don't mean to cause this thread to derail (well in fact I do ), but how come stuff Ashbury as well as semi-crappy Swedish punky powerpop from 1979 seem so cool in underground metal circles while the steel merchants of WASP is spat on and referred to as "stadium rock"?
