If you're looking for heavy bands - nyl sez EM. If you'd be satisified with other genres as well ...

Schizo
Incinerator
Mondocane
Convulsed

death / thrash / speed ... pretty brutal outcome actually, as it is life there. I think Schizo was quite decent early Carcass worship, Incinerator as Kreator worshippers aren't bad but also nothing outstanding, Mondocane was a project and reportedly not very good one, Convulsed might be interesting for DH thrash collectors such as myself.

schizo were definitely awesome, but dont those demos predate carcass by a good 3 - 4 years?

Schizo - is this the same band which has recorded a demo in 1986 with one track called something like "Nazi and Proud"? The whole demo was horrible, but I haven't heard anything else from them.

well, Mainframe Collapse is from 1989, demo with same title from 1987. And sounds quite in the vein of Carcass debut from the year earlier to my ears.

As for the strange title from their first demo, I don't know ... if they were into that crap. DaN?

I read a Schizo zine interview in 1989 that claimed "Nazi & Proud" was just intended to be "brutal stuff" & not a propaganda exercise. They weren't NS any more than Holocausto or Rommel were. Sadly, just like "Angel of Death", lots of people misunderstood the intention behind it.

How can a title like "Nazi & Proud" be missunderstood? It's not that you must read between the lines here... That's crap and about as opposite as it gets to what METAL means to me.
Whatever they intended with this track: fuck 'em

They also had a song called "Make Her Bleed Slowly", but that doesn't mean they went around stabbing women.

I like "Main Frame Collapse". On this one they sound like kid brothers of TERRORIZER w/ a british edge = more to my liking. Never heard about the "Nazi & Proud" demo though. So this is more early Death/Black than the grindcrustmetal of the LP then? I think I'd like to hear that.

The title is in pretty bad taste, but I could never take the bands who used such imagery/titles seriously. File under Youthfull Ignorance and "let's piss off our parents" teen mannerisms. Still, it's unusual to see a European band doing something like that. A tad too close to home compared to the SoAm or Japanese bands who played around with stuff like that.

About Sicilian Metal: Have anyone heard FIABA? I think they're from Sicily. Salvatore/Deluge posted some clips on Miskatonic a few years ago and they sounded awsome. Very original, epic/doomy Metal I've been having a hard time to locate on CD since then :(
Are you there, Sal?

For me its not a contradiction to abhor this Nazi shit, while a the same time I have no problem with innocent maidens sacrificed to fierce dragons, beheaded knights on the battlefield or tortured women in unclean dungeons
Maybe its because we germans (well, most of us anyway) are overly sensible about this topic. Whether they really meant it or were just trying to provoke doesn't change the fact that my beer won't taste anymore when listening to retarded fuck like that.
