The Corroseum forum (new design under construction)

MISSION OF CHRIST were a very obscure thrash/ (proto) Death metal band from British Columbia, Canada & were barely around for 3 years (late 1986 to early 1989). They recorded 2 demos & 2 tracks for their split 7" with fellow BC-ians FRATRICIDE. Rumour has it that they were gonna sign to Metal Blade & that some studio recordings were made for the label. I can't verify this & have never heard those supposed tracks. Nevertheless, MISSION OF CHRIST never released an album & after doing a bunch of gigs, finally disappeared in early 1989. Musically they reminded me of a mix of SACRIFICE (can) & THE ACCÜSED, but they were definitely a metal band though. Here is is their 2nd demo, a rehearsal tape, the 2 tracks from the split 7" & 4 live tracks from a gig they did in Victoria, BC in October 1987. I never had their 1st demo or the previously mentioned "audition" recordings they supposedly did for Metal Blade records. By the way, They were NEVER a Christian metal band, although some people did seem to think so due to the name :

Interesting stuff, I just noticed them in the thanks list on the Armoros lp, makes sense they played gigs together. They must have done some shows around Seattle but they never made it any farther away in the states I guess. I used to see some shows in the Kenniwick, WA area during this time period but they must have never made it a few hundred miles from their home area.
