Where is the band Douglas who released the "State of Rock" album really from?
Greek guys claims they are from Greece but on their LP (german pressing) there's clearly stated and printed on the sleeve "Australian made Rock".
While I found a label info that sounds like the band was originally an australian band. See below though it's in german. The article says that the Douglas brothers has been star guests at a Crete based festival in the mid 80's when they met 2 greek musicians. The formed a band and then played every festival in Australia bla bla bla ... the info sheet does not claim that they have been a greek band at all. Anyone knows more. If they indeed has been greek why they were sold as australian band?

Why are you asking about this poser band? Totally lame crap, wouldn't trade for a Bavarian hamburger.

Dougles was a Greek band. Took their name by 2 Greek-Australian brothers (actually Douglas was their mothers last name).

Heres is an interview they did, not that many years ago :

Since it is in Greek, i will translate a part that they talk about their origins.

Q : Many consider you an Australian band.

A : That was because our label promoted us that way ... to say the truth ... last name of Alex and Elias from their mother's side is Douglas, their actual last name is Paraskeuopolos. Because of the hype of everything imported being good , our producers made the decision to call us Greek Australian. That's why the first LP - the one with the helmet on the cover - states on the cover "Australian Rock". Marketing trick of the German promoters.
