The "Europe's Best Metal"-compilation challange!
Hi folks!
I know I really need to catch up on a lot of things around here, but in the meantime:
Just picked up this stupid rare comp on ebay. Apparently it's a test-pressing of a New Renaissance Rec compilation that never got properly released, in turn making it one of ze koolest & kültest comps ever made imho. No picture sleeve or info whatsoever to go on, so I had to do some thorough research to identify the bands/tracks - 6 out of 10 now has named attached to them. Can The Corroseum Collective Brain Trust solve the mystery of The Final Four?

It really is a great comp in it's own right (4 solid swords) and a true artifact of Thee Olde Euro-Metal Underground, so don't miss out..

Just got an outside tip on track 3, but I'll wait a day or 2 before posting it if anyone wanna shine.
Track 2 MIGHT be Splinter (Germany) - Dark Night (from their '86 demo)
The play style partially matches the sound of the second demo which has been ripped but I do not have any songs from the first demo so I cannot say for sure. The vocalist sounds German, so at first I thought it was MASS - Dark Night from Swiss Connection but the lyrics didn't match.
Here's Splinter (Germany) - King Of The Road from the '87 demo for sound comparison: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4SosF4hU4w
Track 3: No idea.

Good idea, but I don't think the vocals do sound similiar...maybe they changed their vocalist At first I thought Stagefright, but could not find a song like "Invasion" or "Bright Night"....But it is certain, that it's a German band...Warepire wrote:Track 2 MIGHT be Splinter (Germany) - Dark Night (from their '86 demo)

As far as I know they changed vocalist between their first and second demo, that is why I am uncertain it actually is this band, I am only going on musical playing style here. I wish I had a rip of the '86 demo so I could check for sure.Nightcrawler wrote:Good idea, but I don't think the vocals do sound similiar...maybe they changed their vocalist At first I thought Stagefright, but could not find a song like "Invasion" or "Bright Night"....But it is certain, that it's a German band...Warepire wrote:Track 2 MIGHT be Splinter (Germany) - Dark Night (from their '86 demo)

So you have the same problem as me. I get mad, because I don't have my records here to check them and I'm sure I know that singer....from my mind I associate that voice with probably Arrow or DarknessSgt. Kuntz wrote: The singer from #2 sounds familiar, i'm sure i must have heard him before. Damn!!
