Samson question

A friend of mine is trying to figure out what Samson release had a version of "Riding With The Angels" without Dickinson singing it. I don't own everything by Samson but I can't remember hearing a version of the song without Dickinson. Apparently the vocalist singing it on the version he heard had a deeper, husky voice. Can anyone shed some light?

Can it be the version off the flipside to The Fight Goes On single? Can't remember if it's a live version, the singer of course is Nicky Moore. There are also other live versions of the song. There are a few live/compilation records out there.

Also as Riding with the Angels isn't a Samson original (it was written by Russ Ballard) there probably are a few recordings of it by other artists as well.

Yeah, I figure it can't be the Russ Ballard version he's thinking off as I wouldn't refer to those vocals as particular deep or gruff. I never heard Nicky Moore sing it (I don't have "The Fight Goes On" single) and I've never heard it sung live without Dickinson at the helm. I bet you've hit the nail on the head though! I'll pass on the info :)

I'm pretty sure that's the version in question. I think it is a studio version, but I'm not 100% sure. I'll have a listen when my currently playing album finishes. :p

EDIT: I was right, it's a studio version(with Nicky's deeper, husky voice very present. :P ).

Just came to think of what a relief it is having a Samson thread here, amongst all the stainless fists in the air steel and murky Oedipus complexed heroic vikingy lores taught at the Miskatonic University made out of moss in three copies shtuff. All of which I love so much - but still...

There's a studio version of "Riding with the Angels" with Nick Moore singing.
It appears as bonus tracks on the "Don't Ged Mad ..." re-issue by Samsonite Inc. Records in 1997.

The American band Heretic also recorded a version of the song on their 1986 "Torture Knows No Boundary" Mini LP on Metal Blade, but i can't recall how it sounded.
