I first thought it was a joke. But, after 15 years of uninspired albums, boring live recordings and dvds, MANOWAR continues to ruin their carreer and credibility, they are now re-recording "Battle Hymns".

From their official web site :

"Finally, technology has caught up with MANOWAR's custom-built touring and recording equipment. The band decided that their fans deserved to hear the songs from their debut album Battle Hymns with the massive sound and production that has become their signature over recent years and records.

Due for release at the end of November 2010, Battle Hymns will soon be available with the unbridled power of today's technology: Battle Hymns 2011.

With the decision to reinterpret the music came the need to revisit the famed narration of the legendary Orson Welles. There was only one obvious choice and that was Sir Christopher Lee. Recorded at the famed Abbey Road Studios in London, his own inspired interpretation of the late, great Orson Welles on "Dark Avenger" will be another jewel in the crown of the Kings Of Metal."

Gee, what happened to their Grand Master Plan of releasing a series of albums praising the War God of every culture? Oh that's right, their Odin album was so horrible that no one wants to hear these washed-up has-beens record more new material. By my count they've released one good album in the last 18 years AND they sounded absolutely horrid when I saw 'em live about 5 years ago- I walked out of the show they were so bad, and I've only ever walked out of 2 shows in my life. Time to put this (war)horse out to pasture.

The only true replacement for Orson Wells would be Christoper Lambert.
"He Was Met At The Gate Of Hades By The Guardian Of The Lost Souls
The Keeper Of The Unavenged
And He Did Say To Him
Let Ye Not Pass Abbadon
Return To The World From Whence Ye Came
And Seek Payment
Not Only For Thine Own Anguish But Vindicate Souls Of The Unavenged
For there can be only one!"

@ION BRITTON: I was hoping for Into Christmas Ride. With such titles as Gloves of Santa and March for Christmas (By the Reindeers of Santa Claus)
