Here's a nice Death Metal demo that I got from a trade with our very own Knell. I haven't seen a copy of this online so I thought I'd throw it out there. It's my first tape rip so hopefully I've done it allright.
Here's the cover (there's a full booklet scan within the rar file)

It's rather simplistic old school Death Metal. I really enjoy it and have been playing it often, although I wouldn't say it's a hidden gem or anything of the sort. Maybe guys like Ernest Thesiger or khiijol will enjoy it (and maybe the Bounded By Metal guy will too).

haha i didnt liked it so much though i generally like dumb death metal but it's nice to hear you enjoy it!
i love how it rips off the boxart of the survival adventure classic "another world"! http://www.wired.com/images_blogs/photo ... verart.png
they also "released" a 7" later but less than 10 copies which makes it one of the rarest death 7"es around actually! the former singer showed me a pic of his copy but he wont sell it (it's also pretty beaten).

useless trivia: the guitarist became mayor of some little bum fuck town in thuringia and another guy got more famous with the pagan/heathen metal band Menhir.

Yes, I do enjoy it quite a bit. These past few days the songs Broken World and Sadistic Terror are stuck in my head. Certainly not original or unique style, but there is something there for fans of early 90's Death Metal.
About the 7", won't the guy at least rip it? Did you try to contact the Menhir guy to see if he also had a copy?

I have to admit the track "Broken World" is not that bad- just listening to your rip, it's really good and clear (opposite of my attempts heh)!
Yes I asked the vocalist for a rip but he doesnt even have a vinyl player anymore.
Don't know about the Menhir guy. I dont think he was in the band anymore when the 7" was released.

Any feedback on this? At least about the quality of the rip since it's the first time I did one myself.

The rip quality's excellent! Hooray for VBR. The music's not that great, but it's enjoyably primitive. Such clumsy drumming, as if he was using drum presets on a Yamaha keyboard with his hands tied behind his back. It's an interesting demo at least. Thanks again!

Ok, nice to hear I didn't do that much of a lousy job at ripping it. I don't really know a lot of technical stuff but the VBR mp3's I have sound better than the CBR, so I went with that. I agree that it's main attraction is the primitive sound, otherwise it wouldn't really stand out among many other DM demos from that era.

This is what the title reminds me of: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LdAvjnk3wT0

Thanks for sharing, this demo took me back to the good times when death metal was meaning something ! Fave track is "Broken World", some good riffing, sometimes it reminds me early-early OBITUARY ! I love the thrashier riff of "Friday" too !!
