Impact on air freight services from volcanic ash?

I don't know if this the right place to post. I just go ahead anyway. :?

As the goddamn volcano in Iceland still spewing ash and the airspace in most parts of Europe being closed down, I reckon that the international shipping services over there are affected too. I’m living outside of Europe continent and I’m about to order a couple of CDs from Underground Symphony Italy. Is it not a good time to send my orders now? Should I wait for the dust to settle down? Perhaps some folks in the Europe can tell me the situation over there. Thanks.

Yes, there are some delays in international shipping. Maybe wait for a week or two before ordering something from Europe.

Nobody knows much, as this situation emerged a couple of days ago. But it looks simple - all airmail services must be affected, and there will be delays. And Italy has the crappiest postal services anyway even without the volcanic ash ;)

According to forecasts 45-60% of air traffic should be restored tomorrow and on Wednesday, while on Thursday normal air services will be restored.

That's what I was thinking too, ha.
We need Superman to do like what he did to the volcano in Superman IV.
