C'mon C-forum braintrust, this is a band we REALLY need to research for more material!
I did, I found an entire album.
It's called Ride The Nightmare and was released in 1988. Apperently it was produced by Jon Oliva.

Halifax - Fadeaway

Great album. Thanks for the tip. :D

Serious, it's just 160Kb/s though so I can't upload it in Poisonoise.

I gave this a listen yesterday and I was a bit disappointed. There's some great songs, quite original ones too, but the vocalist just can't stay in tune with the music. Damn shame... It had the potential for excellence.

Some tracks are more commercial, but I liked it a lot as a whole. Can't see what's wrong with the vocals, they're just great. "Majesta" is a different version from the compilation. But is this really an officially released album? I want to see the front cover.

I didn't mind the more "commercial" style of the other songs, great melodic Metal w/ some awesome riffs, but the vocals sounds weird. The guy has great voice initself but it just sounds out of tune w/ the guitars. It almost sounds like when you play a record with the centerhole a bit off. "Knights Of Fury" sounds especially awful.

I'm pretty sure it was never released on vinyl. I figure it would have been mentioned on a few trade- and want lists if that were the case..

I did read someone mentioning it on a forum as demo. So it might be a professionally produced (by Jon Oliva, which is also mentioned in the link lunaboy provided) demo instead, but one unreliable source is not something I'd go by. Maybe glockose can tell more.

I have seen this demo on a sales list, but i can't find it anymore. It was on a US homepage and the price was 35$ if i remember correctly.

The title was "HALIFAX - Ride the Nightmare, demo tape 1988, Florida, produced by John Oliva".

You should go out to festivals and 2nd hand vinyl stores more often.

No, I can read and count and those are quite different numbers. One hundred and sixty Kilobytes per second.
