Metalizing the classics (the first masters)

Does anyone have any good examples of metal bands covering classical music? More strictly I mean pretty much a whole movement or piece rather than just a quotation in a song.
An obvious one being Cirith Ungol's 'Tocatta in Dm' (I think Vavel did this one too), Mekong Delta doing Mussorgksy's 'Pictures at an Exhibition' or Magnit covering Mozart on 'Dies Irae'.

one of my favorites is believer's dies irae.i am not sure however,if it is a classical composition or they composed that themselves.

The Cirith Ungol tocatta is VERY bad.

Pants. I like it...and I am the 63rd re-incarnation of J.S. Bach according to Shirley McClaine so that must be right.

Never cared much for this kind of stuff, but MEKONG DELTA's Pictures cover was one I genuinely enjoyed.

Savatage's Prelude To Madness to mention one.
Blitzkrieg also did Tocatta, I like their version better than the CU one.

I hadn't heard that...it's damn cool. The more female voiced parts are either styled like or arrangements of, some Gregorian chant possibly but I'm not really familiar with that stuff...I think the rest of the song must be their own making with some classical allusions.

I forgot about those. The Blitzkreig Tocatta is good because it's a rocked up version...albeit simplified. It's still not up to much compared with CU's version for me...the unison bass+guitar bits are outstanding in that one. And there's less laughing.

The CU version sounds amateurish, and the guitar sound doesn't work at all there.

I love Ungol's version of Toccata. Vavel's is ok, I've never heard Blitzkrieg's.
I don't think Mekong Delta's Pictures turned out too well. Just compare The Hut of Baba Yaga on their first album to the one on Pictures. Most of their other classical covers are awesome though, especially Night on a Bare Mountain.
Agressor does an absolutely killer cover of Mozart's Turkish March.
Bathory's interpretation of Holst's The Planets is magnificent.

ADRAMELCH - Irae Melanox
No coverversion, but the whole album is heavily influenced by classic (baroque style i think).

Good man! I don't think there could have been a more fitting and EPIC end to 'Twilight of the Gods'...it's immense!

The Great Kat discography is filled with Heavy Metal versions of classical tunes, and quite skilled if you ask me.

Savatage has a track called "Mozart and Madness" on the 'Dead Winter Dead' album, it's a remake of Mozart's 25th symphony.
Stormwitch did some Mozart guitar masturbation on the 'Stronger Than Heaven' album.
