I'll add Cloven Hoof's S/T and Holocaust's The Nightcomers to my list.

Elixir and Deep Switch are both great but came too late and don't sound much like many classic nwobhm bands (I don't mean it's a genre of it's own but I guess you know what I'm talking about). I could've been more precise in my opening post though. I ment albums that were made during the movement. Well maybe TRÖJAN in my list is a bit stretched but at least by '86 movement had already done what it was supposed to and almost every band evolved from the charmingly young, proud and high-spirited pack to something different and sometimes equally great (Cloven Hoof for example). There's the pre- and post-nwobhm threads for other stuff Just like to see which nwobhm albums my fellow corroseum members hold dear and maybe some discussion about them.

Imo Chateaux - Chained And Desperate captures the spirit maybe the best for me. Still a bit naive and full of rebellion but at the same so proudly doing their part in the creation of Heavy Metal that I can't help but to praise them. The song Straight To The Heart has the whole power of the movement within.[/list]

I think that the Ritual - Widow album is a bit to soppy/romantic/rudimentary to find it truly great. To me I has great potential but dissapoints in some aspects. I really like the vocal and guitar tone but the songs are way too harmless. Sort of like Roky Erickson without the insanity, confusion, hallucinations, demons and drugs and completely lacking of bite. Still like the album though - I just expected more out of it.

Is it okay to name the bands that were recently re-released?

Like TYRANT, DRAGONSLAYER (!!), RITUAL, TRIARCHY, HAMMERHEAD...

Well I felt same at first about Ritual but then I found myself humming the songs all the time and the tunes playing in my head and I almost subconsciously played Widow a lot in the background when I was washing dishes or something and started to think that there's got to be something I've missed. Played it again with paying attention more this time and it all just clicked. The haunting beauty of it had a great effect to me and I started to notice some little things and details I don't even know how begin to explain. The atmosphere is superb too. That very subtle but sinister feel and almost magical aura. And I don't mean to tell this in a way that you just haven't listened and studied the album enough. In fact I think it's a very personal thing and not everyone can relate to my feelings about it or the stuff "i read between the lines" on this album.
